This is the final week of National Pet Preparedness Month, and the Department of Public Health’s Animal Care Division, along with the Preparedness and Response Program and the Office of Emergency Services, are joining forces to offer you crucial tips on pet safety.

Consider “microchipping” your pet. These permanent implants can be vital in helping you locate your pet following a disaster. Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words

Take a current photo of your pet in case you get separated during a disaster. Your pets rely on you for their safety — make sure you’re prepared!
