This week’s San Bernardino County destination is the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino.

Planes of Fame seeks to preserve aviation history, ignite interest in aviation, educate the public about the role and importance of aviation, and honor our veterans and pioneers of aviation.

Founded in 1974, the Planes of Fame Air Museum offers an extensive collection of aviation artifacts, memorabilia and over 160 historic aircraft with more than 35 in flyable condition. Its collection includes the rare Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero, the Boeing P-26 Peashooter and the Northrop N9MB Flying Wing.

In addition, the museum offers flying demonstrations and hosts special events such as the annual Junior Aviators Day on Saturday, July 6, Hangar Talk and flying demo, Saturday, Aug. 3, and Taste of Flight Gala Fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 3.
