San Bernardino County wants residents to be informed before they head to the polls on Nov. 5 to decide on Measure L, the San Bernardino County Law Enforcement Staffing and Community Protection Act. The county has created an FAQ document to provide further information.

If passed by more than 50 percent of voters, Measure L would require the Board of Supervisors to include a minimum amount of funding in its annual budget to support County patrol personnel direct salary and benefit costs for operations in the unincorporated areas of the county. Beginning Jan. 1, 2025, it would revise the annual base salary for elected county officers, excluding members of the Board of Supervisors and the Superintendent of Schools.
