The Inland Empire Legislative Caucus (Inland Empire Caucus) recently announced that the 2026-27 state budget includes funding to begin expanding judicial capacity in California’s most under-resourced courts, including those serving the Inland Empire.

San Bernardino Countyโ€™s CARE Act program is helping individuals connect with the support, treatment and services they need to move toward greater stability and independence.

For CARE Act graduate Lawrence, that support made a meaningful difference. Lawrence shared that his CARE team consistently showed up for him, helping him access medication, connecting him with his care team and supporting him as he learned to manage appointments more independently.

Over time, Lawrence says the program also strengthened his relationship with his sister and helped him become more independent. As he completed the program, he described graduation as a โ€œfresh start,โ€ a new journey and a new beginning.

Want to learn more about the CARE Act and how it can help? Community members are invited to join our CARE Act Info Session on Aug. 27 at noon to learn more about the program, available support and how CARE can make a difference for individuals and families in San Bernardino County.
