San Bernardino County Children and Family Services honored local foster families with two caregiver appreciation events during National Foster Care Month in May, a time dedicated to highlighting the critical role foster families play in supporting children and teenagers in the child welfare system.
The celebrations took place at Scandia in Victorville and Fiesta Village in Colton, bringing together families who have opened their hearts and homes to youth in need throughout the community. For many attendees, the gatherings provided a sense of connection and shared experience.
“You see you’re not the only one,” said a foster youth at the event, reflecting on the gathering’s impact.
Both venues offered family-friendly activities designed to strengthen bonds between caregivers and the children in their care, creating lasting memories for families who dedicate themselves to nurturing vulnerable youth.
Children and Family Services organizes these annual events to show gratitude for the commitment local families make to vulnerable youth in San Bernardino County.
