Short-term foster families are needed to care for dogs ahead of the Wings of Rescue flight.

San Bernardino County Animal Care is seeking short-term foster families to care for dogs preparing for the upcoming Wings of Rescue flight on Friday, July 17. Short-term foster care helps ensure the dogs are healthy, comfortable and ready for transport.

Fostering provides a safe and temporary home for animals who need extra care, socialization or simply a quieter environment while they wait for adoption or transport. It is one of the most meaningful ways residents can support shelter pets and strengthen animal welfare across the region.

โ€œEvery foster home helps us save more lives,โ€ said Jennifer Osorio, assistant director of San Bernardino County Public Health Department. โ€œWhen residents step forward to foster, they become part of a communitywide effort to support animals in need.โ€

The foster program is designed to be easy and accessible for everyone. All essential supplies such as food, crates and basic care items are provided at no cost.

Those who are not ready to foster can still make a meaningful impact by supporting the Animals aRe First Fund, which helps provide resources for foster pets and shelter animals throughout the county.
