San Bernardino County has once again illuminated several county facilities in green in celebration of Veterans Day.
It’s all part of Operation Green Light for Veterans, a nationwide initiative led by the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers (NACVSO).
Operation Green Light raises awareness of the service and sacrifices of our nation’s service members and reminds veterans and their families that benefits, resources and assistance are available in their communities.
Residents, businesses and community organizations are encouraged to participate by replacing one exterior or interior light with a green bulb from now until Nov. 11. Whether displayed at a home, storefront, office or community building, each green light sends a visible message that veterans are seen, appreciated and supported.
The following county locations are scheduled to be illuminated in green from now until Nov. 11:
- San Bernardino County Veterans Affairs Office, 222 Hospitality Lane, San Bernardino
- Veterans Affairs at the Jerry Lewis High Desert Government Center, 15900 Smoke Tree St., Hesperia
- Chairman and Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe’s District Office at the Bob Burke Government Center, 63665 Twentynine Palms Highway, Joshua Tree
- First District Supervisor Col. Paul Cook’s (Ret.) District Office, 14955 Dale Evans Parkway, Apple Valley
- Second District Supervisor Jesse Armendarez’s District Office, 8575 Haven Ave., Rancho Cucamonga
- Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman’s District Office, 14010 City Center Drive, Chino Hills
- Vice Chair and Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr.’s District Office at the San Bernardino County Government Center, 385 N. Arrowhead Ave., San Bernardino
San Bernardino County remains committed to connecting veterans and their families with the benefits they have earned through their military service. Community members who participate are encouraged to share photos on social media using the hashtag #OperationGreenLight.
Veterans and family members seeking assistance can contact San Bernardino County Veterans Affairs by visiting va.sbcounty.gov or calling 866-472-8387.
