When our friends at DonkeyLand asked for help to gather roaming undomesticated donkeys in the Reche Canyon area, our San Bernardino County Animal Care team quickly stepped in to assist.
Over the past two weeks, our team has worked alongside DonkeyLand to safely gather and transport these wild burros to the sanctuary. These efforts included helping to navigate challenging terrain and ensuring the safety of the animals during transit. We deeply appreciate our partnership with DonkeyLand and their commitment to providing a safe, permanent home for these incredible animals.

About Donkeyland
DonkeyLand is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and protecting wild burros and their habitats. Situated on over 2,000 acres, it serves as a rescue center, sanctuary and wildlife preserve, offering a safe haven for wild burros and other wildlife.
The organization’s mission is to elevate the status of donkeys and wild burros by saving lives and educating the public about their plight, both in captivity and in the wild. DonkeyLand aims to inspire people to love, respect and protect these innocent creatures.
DonkeyLand operates with an all-volunteer board of directors and officers, ensuring that 100% of every contribution directly supports the animals and maintains the facility.
The organization focuses on rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing wild burros back into their natural habitats whenever possible. For those unable to return to the wild due to injury, illness or special needs, DonkeyLand provides lifelong care.

To maintain the peace and privacy of the wild burros, the sanctuary is not open to the public.
