The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors are pleased to announce that the county has opened two new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to expand access to charging infrastructure and support the county’s sustainability goals.

The charging stations, accommodating up to three vehicles at a time, are located at Ayala Park, 17909 Marygold Ave. in Bloomington.

“In support of our goal to create a sustainable economy, we are pleased to report that we’ve added two new charging stations, which brings us one step closer to achieving our Countywide Vision of increasing sustainable infrastructure and reducing vehicle emissions,” said Board of Supervisors Chair and Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe. “I look forward to seeing continued progress in this area.”

The county currently has five dual-head, level 2 charging stations at the San Bernardino County Government Center on Third St. and Mountain View Ave. in San Bernardino. The plan is to continue to install new charging stations in strategic locations throughout the county.

“I am immensely thankful to the Board of Supervisors for backing this crucial initiative,” said Public Works Director Brendon Biggs. “As electric vehicle sales continue to surge in our region, our county leaders are making it possible for residents to reap the environmental and economic advantages of this cutting-edge technology.”

The new charging stations will be managed and maintained by ChargePoint, Inc., the largest EV charging network in the world.
