an initiative that promises to bring smiles to young faces. The tradition has been made possible through the invaluable support of Santa Claus Inc., which contributes the generous gift donations for the children.

The gifts are distributed to various program sites based on the number of children at each location. It is here that PSD’s dedicated team of site supervisors, teachers, teacher aides, and other staff personally wrap each gift, ensuring that the presents are not only thoughtful, but also a source of genuine delight for the children and their families. Mrs. Santos, Acting Site Supervisor with PSD, has participated in this event for four consecutive years and reflects, “For most of our families this really makes a difference. When I hand the gifts to the children, I see their faces light up and it is heartwarming to see their smiles and excitement.”

As required by the Office of Head Start, PSD welcomes goods and services as Non-Federal Share with the annual goal being a minimum of 25 percent of our federal funding. The contributions can take various forms, including monetary donations, age-appropriate (0-5 years old) toys, school supplies, discounts or free supplies from companies, presentations, classroom projects, and more.
