Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) held its annual 5k Walk/Run and Health Expo on May 2, with more than 2,100 community members participating.

“We host ARMC’s annual 5K Walk/Run to provide a free family-friendly activity that helps our community focus on health and well-being,” said ARMC Chief Executive Officer Andrew Goldfrach, FACHE. “I had the opportunity to cheer the walkers and runners crossing the finish line, witnessing their determination and courageous spirit firsthand.”

ARMC’s Walk/Run is a community outreach event designed to raise awareness of the benefits of regular physical exercise—nearly 70 percent of adults in our county struggle with weight. ARMC’s free 5K Walk/Run is a call for individuals of all ages and fitness levels to come together and fight obesity.

Runners and walkers soaked up positive vibes, support and a shared passion for health as they explored the Health Expo before the race began. They participated in health screenings and learned about nutrition and wellness. Families then embarked on the 3.1-mile route that weaved through the streets surrounding the medical center.

ARMC’s Cancer Care Center saw more than 250 people and provided skin cancer screenings to dozens of racers. ARMC’s Mobile Medical Clinic, Burn Unit and Behavioral Health Department also shared valuable health information.

ARMC’s Comprehensive Stroke Center and Cardiac teams partnered with the hospital’s resident physicians for health screenings, and ARMC’s Trauma Department had an interactive, life-size thermometer to remind parents not to leave children in hot cars.

Once they crossed the finish line, runners and walkers celebrated their age-group wins with hospital leadership at an awards ceremony.

The free ARMC 5K Walk Run has grown into an integral part of the community, helping families maintain their health goals and allowing runners and walkers to compete at a local level. Thank you to everyone who joined ARMC at the 2026 5K!
