The Land Use Services Department is utilizing a GIS‑powered Social Pinpoint map to collect location‑based feedback on truck‑route impacts for Assembly Bill 98.

San Bernardino County is expanding its outreach to better understand safety, noise, parking and congestion concerns related to heavy‑duty truck traffic in unincorporated communities. The County Land Use Services Department is inviting residents to share feedback, personal experiences and observations about truck activity. Community insight helps identify local needs and challenges and supports truck‑route planning that protects neighborhood quality of life while maintaining efficient goods movement across the region.

What AB 98 means for local communities

Assembly Bill 98 requires counties to designate and clearly sign truck routes in unincorporated areas. The law is intended to improve roadway safety, reduce conflicts between trucks and residential neighborhoods, and strengthen the statewide goods‑movement network.

For San Bernardino County, a major logistics corridor, AB 98 provides a framework for consistent truck‑route signage, better planning as freight activity grows and improved safety for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. Public participation is an essential part of putting the law into practice.

How to share input

A new interactive Social Pinpoint map is available for residents to mark locations, share stories and highlight areas of concern. Draft truck‑route signage plans are also posted on the project webpage. Comments are requested by June 3, 2026.

Stay involved and learn more

Residents can visit the project webpage to learn more about the effort and sign up for email updates about future opportunities to participate. Community perspectives play an important role in shaping how truck‑route decisions are made, and the county welcomes continued involvement.
