Youth across the county are invited to the Friday Night Live Summer Social on June 17 at Glen Helen Regional Park.

On Wednesday, June 17, Children’s Network and the Department of Public Health’s Friday Night Live program will host the Friday Night Live Summer Social at Glen Helen Regional Park. The event will bring youth from across the county together for a full day of connection, learning and fun. The day begins with breakfast, followed by social-emotional learning activities, a keynote speaker from Leading to Change, lunch and shaved ice. The event will conclude with swim time at the swim complex and new waterslides.

“Events like the Summer Social help young people feel supported, valued and connected,” said Children’s Network Officer Ashley Brooksher. “When youth have safe spaces to learn, grow and build relationships, it strengthens families and communities across our county.”

“We are excited to bring youth together for a day that celebrates connection, learning and fun,” said Janki Patel, acting director of the Department of Public Health. “Our hope is that every young person leaves feeling supported and inspired by the community around them.”

San Bernardino County youth ages 12 to 18 can register for the event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Check-in and breakfast take place from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Participants may be dropped off at the park, or parents and guardians may remain at the event. Registration information is available on the FNL Summer Social Eventbrite page.

Children’s Network serves as the Child Abuse Prevention Council for San Bernardino County and coordinates preventive programs and services through collaboration with community and county partners to strengthen child, family and community well-being. Friday Night Live is a youth-led substance use prevention program that supports leadership development for youth in elementary, middle and high schools through activity-based learning and community engagement.
