For years, many Bloomington residents have relied on septic systems to serve their homes and properties. Now, a major infrastructure investment is paving the way for a cleaner, healthier and more connected future.
The San Bernardino County Department of Public Works – Special Districts recently broke ground on the Bloomington Sewer Expansion Project, a significant improvement that will extend public sewer service along Marygold Avenue, Locust Avenue and Linden Avenue. Once completed, approximately 170 properties will have the opportunity to transition from septic systems to a modern sewer connection.
The project includes the installation of approximately 7,500 linear feet of sewer main, creating critical infrastructure that will support future development while improving public health, protecting the environment and enhancing residents’ quality of life.
“This project is an investment in the health and future of Bloomington,” said San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Vice Chair and Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. “Expanding access to reliable sewer infrastructure helps protect our environment, supports economic growth and improves the quality of life for local families. I’m proud to see this long-awaited project moving forward for our community.”
This milestone reflects the power of partnership. Funding from the Southern California Association of Governments’ (SCAG) Regional Early Action Planning REAP 2021 Program has been instrumental in bringing the project to life. Construction by All Cities Engineering, Inc. is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
By investing in essential infrastructure today, San Bernardino County is strengthening communities, expanding opportunities and advancing the Countywide Vision of a county where every resident can thrive.
