San Bernardino County’s 2026 State of the County, a signature regional event hosted by GOCAL — Greater Ontario California, will take place on Thursday, Oct. 8. The event will bring together more than 1,300 business, government and community leaders to experience what makes San Bernardino County a leading choice for business investment and job creation.
This year’s “Get Your Kicks” theme celebrates the 100th anniversary of Route 66 and the spirit of the open road, where history, innovation and opportunity intersect. The event will also be a chance to highlight and recognize organizations that are helping to advance the Countywide Vision. These businesses are deeply woven into the fabric of the county’s history and continue to shape the county’s path forward. Well-known business leaders will also be featured in live panel discussions hosted by Board of Supervisors Chairman and Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe.
“Our history is one of our greatest assets. We’re proud of the entrepreneurs who put down roots in the county because they recognized the opportunity for success in this great region,” said Rowe. “Today, our county is home to leading industries that have grown from humble beginnings. The State of the County will be an opportunity to celebrate their achievements and look ahead to the next generation of industries that will lead the way.”
Route 66 will also play a central role in this year’s program. “The Mother Road,” as it’s often called, represents a significant moment in history that continues to define the nation’s identity: the rise of the automobile and its implications of freedom, mobility and a uniquely American story. Route 66 was officially commissioned in 1926 as part of America’s first federal highway system.
San Bernardino County currently maintains portions of Route 66, now known as National Trails Highway. In San Bernardino County, Route 66 runs through many cities including Barstow, Victorville, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana and Rialto.
The 2026 State of the County will be held at the Ontario Convention Center located at 2000 E. Convention Center Way in Ontario. Tickets are $50. To register for the event, please visit the State of the County registration page.
