Southern California Edison is hosting virtual meetings to help San Bernardino County residents prepare for potential Public Safety Power Shutoffs during high fire risk conditions.

Southern California Edison (SCE) is hosting two virtual discussions to help residents stay informed and prepared for Public Safety Power Shutoffs.

Residents of San Bernardino County may experience longer and more extensive Public Safety Power Shutoffs due to low humidity, dry vegetation, high winds and the risk of extreme weather facing Southern California. SCE may proactively and temporarily shut off power to keep communities safe and reduce the risk of a fire caused by utility equipment. Areas that historically have not been affected by Public Safety Power Shutoffs may also experience outages.

To help residents better understand what to expect during these events, the virtual discussions will cover how to prepare for outages, available programs and services, support during an outage, cost-saving strategies and enhancing emergency preparedness. Participants will also have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.

Residents may register for either the May 19 or May 21 virtual session held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Additional information, including alerts, outage maps, livestream access and other resources are available at Community Safety Meetings | SCE.
