San Bernardino County Department of Aging and Adult Services-Public Guardian (DAAS-PG) invites all public and private professionals who support older adults and individuals with disabilities to register for the 36th Annual Adult Protective Services (APS) Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Conference on May 22 from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel Ontario Airport in Ontario.

This year’s theme, Aging Equitably by Bridging the Gap, focuses on enabling older adults and individuals with disabilities to reside securely, independently, and comfortably within their own home and community, irrespective of age, income, socio-economic status, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or physical and mental capacity.

“The conference offers a chance to collaborate with professionals from diverse backgrounds, public and private, aiming to enhance the delivery of services benefiting older adults and individuals with disabilities throughout the county,” said Director-Public Guardian Sharon Nevins.

The conference will offer an exciting opportunity to:

  • Understand the importance of developing comprehensive multisector individualized plans to ensure agencies provide equitable services across a wide range of clients.
  • Explore ways to overcome biases and gaps in programs that may result in inequitable access to services.
  • Learn about the importance of cultural equity and embody the values, policies and practices that ensure all people, including those who have been historically underrepresented, are given equal opportunity for services.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Medical and Family Therapists (LMFTs), Licensed Educational Psychologists (LEPs), and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCCs) are available at no cost for certain workshops.

To register for the full-day conference, visit Eventbrite.
