The San Bernardino County Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is pleased to announce the launch of the new CalVet College Fee Waiver (CFW) application online submission tool, a faster and more accessible way for eligible veteran dependents to access this important educational benefit. The CFW waives mandatory tuition and fees at California State Universities, University of California campuses and California community colleges for the dependents of veterans with a service-connected disability.
The modernized CFW application process allows applicants to complete and submit the form online, eliminating the need for in-person office visits and reducing application processing times. This new online capability makes the CFW process easier for students and families preparing for the upcoming academic year.
In addition to the online option, students can still download the application and submit it in person at any of the three VA offices located in Hesperia, Rancho Cucamonga or San Bernardino.
VA continues to modernize services and reduce barriers for veterans and their families through expanded digital access and improved customer service options. Applicants interested in using the new online submission tool are encouraged to visit the College Fee Waiver Online Portal. VA is dedicated to connecting veterans and their families with the benefits and resources they have earned. Veterans seeking more information about the CFW program or other available benefits can visit va.sbcounty.gov or call 866-472-8387.
