The San Bernardino County Library welcomed residents, community leaders and library supporters on June 8 to celebrate the reopening of the Wrightwood Branch Library following a series of facility improvements designed to enhance the visitor experience and better serve the community.

The celebration featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Samuel Shoup, constituent services director for San Bernardino County First District Supervisor Paul Cook, and Miriam Munoz, district representative for state Sen. Suzette Martinez Valladares. Community leaders, residents and library supporters gathered to tour the revitalized facility and commemorate a new chapter for the Wrightwood Branch Library.

Guests had the opportunity to explore the updated library, connect with library staff and learn more about the programs, resources and services available to the community.

The renovated branch features fresh interior paint, updated shelving, new carpeting, modern furnishings and upgraded public computers, creating a welcoming and functional environment for patrons of all ages.

โ€œThe reopening of the Wrightwood Branch Library represents an investment in our community and our future,โ€ said County Librarian Melanie Orosco. โ€œWe are grateful to have representatives from both Supervisor Cookโ€™s and Sen. Valladaresโ€™ offices, as well as the many community members who joined us to celebrate this important milestone. These improvements ensure residents have access to a modern, welcoming space for learning, exploration and connection.โ€

The reopening also coincided with the launch of the San Bernardino County Libraryโ€™s annual Catch the Wave Summer Reading Program, which runs through Aug. 2. Families and readers of all ages are encouraged to participate in reading challenges, special events and educational activities throughout the summer.

For many years, the Wrightwood Branch Library has served as a valued community gathering place, providing access to books, technology, educational programs and essential community resources. Recent enhancements help ensure the branch remains a vibrant destination for lifelong learning, discovery and community engagement for years to come.

San Bernardino County Library extends its appreciation to the Wrightwood community, elected officials, project partners, Friends of the Library supporters and library staff whose dedication and support helped make the reopening celebration a success.
