San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health is inviting residents, educators, community partners and others to review and provide feedback on the draft Teen 311 App Pilot Project Plan.
Responses should be submitted by Wednesday, Oct. 28.
The Teen 311 App Pilot Project is designed to improve access to behavioral health resources for youths ages 12-18 by providing a convenient mobile platform. The app is intended to connect young people with local behavioral health resources, crisis support, community services, educational materials and other supports.
The draft plan outlines a proposed three-year Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) pilot project spanning through 2029. It includes phased implementation across multiple areas of San Bernardino County, school-based outreach, community resource fairs, evaluation and continued community engagement.
The project’s learning goals include:
- Evaluating whether the app increases youth awareness of and access to county and community resources
- Understanding how demographics affect engagement and service utilization
- Assessing the app’s usability and accessibility
- Examining changes in understanding and acceptance of mental health challenges.
Behavioral Health encourages community members to review the draft plan and share their input during the public posting period. Feedback received will help inform the project as it moves through the planning and review process.
Public comment period: Sept. 28-Oct. 28
