San Bernardino County is a fantastic place to live, work and play. Now travelers will have an opportunity to view the county’s latest marketing campaign at the Ontario International Airport (ONT), located in Terminal 4.
The Opportunity Campaign is the county’s latest effort to inform residents and visitors about the myriad of family-friendly activities, local attractions, good paying jobs, quality housing, and unique business opportunities throughout the county.
More than half a million travelers pass through Ontario International Airport each month, countless thousands of them looking for ways to spend their time in the Inland Empire. The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors now provides them with a resounding answer in a size befitting America’s largest county.
Visiting jetsetters can’t miss the county’s giant, colorful, seasonal floor-to-ceiling display strategically located on the path from the arrival gates to the baggage claim and ground transportation areas. During the warm-weather months, travelers are tantalized by inviting images of the county’s regional parks, alpine lakes, museums, and off-roading opportunities. In the winter, they are reminded that San Bernardino County offers Southern California’s best skiing and other snow-centric activities. A QR code takes them to a website with details on all of the county’s recreational offerings.
ONT reported last month that 556,213 domestic and international passengers came through the airport in September alone, a 7.6% increase over September 2022. Year-to-date passenger traffic is up 11.6% – almost 4.7 million travelers so far this year. Directing those growing numbers of visitors to local attractions not only supports the places and programs made possible by the Board of Supervisors but creates economic activity for businesses large and small throughout San Bernardino County.
The goal of the campaign is to promote San Bernardino County as a premier destination for year-round outdoor recreation, safe and affordable housing, and good paying jobs. The campaign also benefits the local economy by generating tourism revenue, which ultimately improves the quality of life in our communities.
The Opportunity Campaign has been featured across radio, print, outdoor and digital platforms. The central campaign message is “Opportunity lives, works and plays here.” Other advertisements have featured images of San Bernardino County’s top tourist destinations including Big Bear Alpine Zoo, Lake Gregory and Joshua Tree National Park.
The campaign has garnered a lot of attention, reaching over 5.6 million individuals since its launch in summer 2022. For more information about opportunities to live, work and play in San Bernardino County, visit https://main.sbcounty.gov/opportunity/.
